Leh is the capital of Ladakh, a region in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in Republic India. Lying between the the Kunlun mountain range in the northern and the main Great Himalayas to the southern side, this region is among the most sparsely populated regions in the state. Perched on a height of 3505 meters from sea level, Leh is situated towards the eastern side of Jammu and Kashmir. After a long haul in its history, Leh and Ladakh were cut from other regions of the country for long. However, now Leh has become a most popular tourist destination among domestic and international tourists.

Day 1: Arrive at Srinagar

Meal: Dinner
Meet upon arrival and transfer to Deluxe Houseboats. Leave for Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel/Houseboat.

Day 2: Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar

Meal: Breakfast & Dinner
Full day trip Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea level. The distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg, which can be covered in about 3 hrs. Also enjoy sledge riding on snow. Chair Lifts for mountain ride are also available. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3: Srinagar – Kargil

Meal: Breakfast & Dinner
After early breakfast, Full day drive to Kargil. After Sonmarg you start steep ascending most rough road and wet Zojila pass 3527 Mtrs known as (Gateway of Ladakh) continue drive towards Drass second coldest place in the world here we stop for tea and passport check. Another two and half hours drive will take us Kargil. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4: Kargil – Leh

Meal: Breakfast & Dinner
After early breakfast, full day drive to Leh today we have to ascend three passes this day will be tiresome but panoramic too. First Buddhist village will be Mulbek. We have to cross the highest pass (Fotula 13749 ft.) on Srinagar Leh route. At lunch time we will be at Lamayuru oldest Monastery. Continue drive to next village Nimu a view of Zanskar river following into Indus. Finally we reach Leh 3500 Mtrs. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5: Leh local sightseeing

Meal: Breakfast & Dinner
After early breakfast full day sightseeing of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. Shey was the summer Palace of Ladakhi Kings and is where you can see the 36ft. high statue of Buddha made of copper and covered with gold. Thicksey: The twelve storied monastery of Thicksey is situated in the most prominent of positions, lies on an island Mountain. Finally visit; Hemis : Farthest away from Leh, this is the wealthiest Monastery in Ladakh belonging to the Red Sect – it is here each summer that plays are held and Ladakhis from all parts of the country will visit Hemis. Evening return to Leh. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6: Leh – Pangong Lake – Leh

Meal: Breakfast & Dinner
Full day excursion to Pangong Lake (approx. 300 kms round trip, located on the Indo-China Border), enroute crossing the Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). After sightseeing around the lake, drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7: Leh – Khardungla – Leh

Meal: Breakfast & Dinner
After breakfast day excursion to Khardongla pass which is the highest motor able pass in the world 5600 Mtrs and has been recorded in the Gunnies Book of world records. At the top enjoy the nature beauty of snow capped mountains. Afternoon back to the hotel and time for your personal shopping and explore market, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and surrounding. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 8: Drop to Leh Airport

Meal: Breakfast
Morning after breakfast, transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home.
